Backup alarm circuit |
The components of the backup alarm circuit are the Power Train/Chassis Electronic Control Module (Power Train/Chassis ECM), the backup alarm, the backup alarm relay, the hoist control position sensor, the shift lever position sensor, the hoist proportioning (raise/eject) solenoid and the hoist proportioning (lower/retract) solenoid.

With the battery disconnect switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker 1 to Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) .
With the key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker 13 to Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) and via circuit breaker 6 to backup alarm relay (3) .
When the shift lever position sensor detects reverse gear and the hoist control position sensor detects that the hoist is in the down position, Power Train/Chassis ECM (1) supplies a ground circuit to energize backup alarm relay (3) .
With the backup alarm relay energized, 24 volt power is supplied to activate backup alarm (2) and the transmission reverse indicator.
