D6M (S/N: 9ZM1-UP; 2RN1-UP; 3WN1-UP; 4JN1-UP; 5WR1-UP; 6LR1-UP; 2YS1-UP; 4GS1-UP)

Description of Change: A new bracket for the transmission filler tube is now used. The new bracket will improve the service life for the filler tube and the transmission by stabilizing the filler tube.

Adaptable To: The left hand fender on the D6M must be modified in order to install this bracket.

Modification Procedure

1. Replace 113-8239 Tube As, if necessary.

Illustration 1 shows the top view of the left hand 147-5932 Fender As . (1) 148-8562 Boss (A) The location for 148-8562 Boss (1) is 247 ± 2 mm (9.724 ± 0.079 inch) from the side edge of the fender to the center of 170-7256 Boss. (B) The location for 148-8562 Boss (1) is 345 ± 2 mm (13.583 ± 0.079 inch) from the top edge of the fender to the center of 170-7256 Boss.

2. Weld 148-8562 Boss (1) to 147-5932 Fender As with a 5 mm (0.197 inch) fillet weld with the dimensions that are shown in Illustration 1.

(2) 203-3847 Bracket As (3) 7X-7729 Washer (4) 8T-4133 Nut (5) 8T-4136 Bolt (6) 9D-6196 Clip (7) 9D-6197 Clip

3. Assemble 9D-6196 Clip (6) and 9D-6197 Clip (7) around the filler tube with 7X-7729 Washer (3) and 8T-4133 Nut (4). Torque 8T-4133 Nut (4) to 55 ± 10 N·m (40.50 ± 7 lb ft). Assemble 203-3847 Bracket As (2) to 148-8562 Boss (1) with 8T-4136 Bolt (5). Torque 8T-4136 Bolt (5) to 55 ± 10 N·m (40.50 ± 7 lb ft).

The additional bracket is adaptable to the following Machines:

• D6M (S/N: 2RN1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 4GS1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 4JN1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 2YS1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 3WN1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 5WR1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 6LR1-UP)

• D6M (S/N: 9ZM1-UP)
