Description of Change: An improved thermocouple has been designed to improve performance in marine applications. The new thermocouple uses a new thermowell.
A new thermocouple that does not require a new thermowell is also available for service replacement.
The new thermocouples are more rugged and more resistant to moisture.

The new 274-8010 Exhaust Thermocouple As is now installed in all new 3600 Marine Engines. The 274-8010 Exhaust Thermocouple As replaces the 124-4596 Thermocouple and the 124-4598 Thermocouple .
The 274-8010 Exhaust Thermocouple As must be installed into either a 149-1976 Thermowell or a 226-1212 Thermowell .
The 274-8010 Exhaust Thermocouple As is used in all locations except at the turbocharger inlet on 3608 marine engines that are equipped with hard insulation. The 279-5204 Exhaust Thermocouple As is used with a 226-1212 Thermowell at that one location.
A new replacement thermocouple is also available. The 264-0046 Thermocouple is a replacement thermocouple that may be used with the original thermowells.
