- 将一个新气门放入气门导管内。

- 将适当的带磁力表架的千分表放在缸盖表面。
- 提起气门头边缘至距离为 15.0 mm (0.60 in)。
- 径向移动气门，使其远离千分表。确保气门尽量远离千分表。将千分表接触点放在气门头边缘上。将千分表指针位置归零。
- 径向移动气门，使其尽可能靠近千分表。记录千分表上指示的移动距离。如果此距离大于气门在气门导管中的最大间隙，则需更换气门导管。
当安装新气门导管时，必须安装新气门和新气门座镶圈。气门导管和气门座镶圈是以粗加工零件的形式供应的。将粗加工的气门导管和粗加工的气门座镶圈安装在缸盖中。然后，使用专用工具将气门导管和气门镶圈一次性切削并铰孔成形。
