Description of Change: A new exhaust tube assembly is now used on the right side of the engine between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold. The new tube assembly has only one bellows assembly that incorporates a vibration dampening material in order to reduce the possibility of exhaust leaks due to cracking.

Adaptable To: The new 194-4773 Exhaust Tube Assembly replaces the former 122-9287 Exhaust Tube Assembly that has been cancelled.

The new 194-4773 Exhaust Tube Assembly is effective with 3412E Engines (S/N: 80M04231-UP) in 24H Motor Graders. The new 194-4773 Exhaust Tube Assembly is adaptable to 3412E Engines (S/N: 80M1-04230) in 24H Motor Graders and 3408E Engines (S/N: 99C1-UP) in 988F Series II Wheel Loaders.

When the new 194-4773 Exhaust Tube Assembly (2) is installed in place of the former 122-9287 Exhaust Tube Assembly, the 141-9648 Support Bracket and the related mounting hardware should be removed and discarded. Tighten both 8N-0879 Clamps (1) to 7.5 ± 1.8 N·m (66 ± 16 lb in). Bring the engine up to operating temperature. Allow the engine to cool and tighten the clamps again to 7.5 ± 1.8 N·m (66 ± 16 lb in).
