Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring or a gasket. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the components of the pump or of the motor. All disassembly and all assembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface and in a clean hydraulic area. Keep cleaned parts covered and protected at all times.

Note: The rubber seals and surfaces that make contact with the seals must be clean and dry. Assemble the ground face to the end of the carrier roller shaft and roller bearing cone. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals.

  1. Install Duo-cone seal kit (13) on collar assembly (14) with Tooling (C) .

    Illustration 8g00727364

  1. Install collar assembly (14) on the carrier roller shaft. Install Tooling (A) on the roller assembly. Put the Duo-cone seal kit under compression with Tooling (A) until snap ring (15) can be installed on the carrier roller shaft. Install snap ring (15) .

    Illustration 9g00727476

  1. Put the roller assembly in position with the plug in a vertical position. Remove plug (11) .

  1. Fill the roller assembly with 2P-9869 Oil. Fill to approximately 0.26 liter (0.540 pint) of oil in the roller assembly. Install plug (11). Tighten the plug to a torque of 75 ± 7 N·m (55 ± 5 lb ft).

End By: Install the track carrier rollers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Carrier Roller - Install" for the correct procedure.
