Start By:
- Remove the gear pump for the steering and brake oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering and Brake Oil Cooler) - Remove".
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

- Remove eight bolts (2) that connect flange assembly (1) to body assembly (3) .

- Remove flange assembly (1) from body assembly (3) .

- Use a hammer and a drift in order to remove lip seal (4) from flange assembly (1). Use Tool (A) in order to remove retaining ring (6). Use a suitable drift in order to remove the remaining lip seal from flange assembly (4) .
- If necessary, remove two dowels (5) from flange assembly (1) .

- Remove O-ring seal (7) from flange assembly (1) .
- Inspect two terminal bushings (8) for wear or damage.
Note: If terminal bushings (8) need to be replaced, score the terminal bushings with a small saw. Be careful not to cut into the bore of the flange assembly. Remove the terminal bushings from flange assembly (1). Be careful not to damage or change the dimension of the bore.

- Remove top isolation plate (11) from body assembly (3) .
- Remove backup ring (10), O-ring seal (9), and ring retainer (12) from body assembly (3) .

Note: Prior to removal, identify the orientation of pressure plate (13) for installation purposes.
- Remove pressure plate (13) from body assembly (3) .

- Remove drive shaft (14) from body assembly (3) .
- Remove idler gear (15) from body assembly (3) .

Note: Prior to removal, identify the orientation of pressure plate (16) for installation purposes.
- Remove pressure plate (16) from body assembly (3) .

- Remove bottom isolation plate (20) from body assembly (3) .
- Remove backup ring (19), O-ring seal (17), and ring retainer (18) from body assembly (3) .

- Inspect two terminal bushings (21) for wear or damage.
Note: If terminal bushings (21) need to be replaced, score the terminal bushings with a small saw. Be careful not to cut into the bore of the body assembly. Remove the terminal bushings from body assembly (3). Be careful not to damage or change the dimension of the bore.
