Screen (Steering Return) - Install
Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
Note: Verify that all of the components of the steering return screen are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
- Position base (4) to the plate. Install three bolts (10) and the washers that secure base (4) to the plate.

- Connect hose assembly (9) to base (4). Connect tube assembly (8) to base (4) .
- Position wiring harness (6) to bypass switch (7). Install two hex flange nuts (5) that secure wiring harness (6) to bypass switch (7) .

- Install plug (2) and the O-ring seal to housing assembly (3) .

- Install housing assembly (3) to base (4) .
- Tighten housing assembly (3) until housing assembly (3) is seated against base (4) .
Note: DO NOT use an air wrench to tighten housing assembly (3) .
- Close the door assemblies behind the cab.
- Replace two drain plugs (1). Tighten two drain plugs (1) to a torque of 68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 5 lb ft).

- Fill the two hydraulic tanks for the steering and brake system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering and Brake System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure to fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the appropriate oil.
- The capacity of the steering and brake hydraulic system is 267 L (70.5 US gal).
End By:
- Charge the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System - Pressure Release/Charge".
- Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
- Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
