Auger Charging System - Test and Adjust

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.

(1) Auger control

(2) 4000 kPa (580 psi) pressure gauge

(3) Pressure tap

(4) Adjustment screw for the gear pump (charge)

  1. Turn off the engine.

  1. Install a 4000 kPa (580 psi) pressure gauge (2) to pressure tap (3) .

  1. Make sure that auger control (1) is in the OFF position. Run the engine at high idle.

  1. Pressure gauge (2) should read 2820 ± 70 kPa (410 ± 10 psi).

  1. If the charge pressure is below 2750 kPa (400 psi), turn adjustment screw (4) clockwise in order to increase the charge pressure. If the charge pressure is above 2890 kPa (420 psi), turn adjustment screw (4) counterclockwise in order to decrease the charge pressure.
