(1) Large bolts (3/4 inch)

(2) Small bolts (3/8 inch)

Use the following procedure to tighten the cylinder head bolts:

1. Apply engine oil to all bolt threads.

2. Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence to the following torque.

   Torque ... 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)

3. Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence to the following torque.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (290 ± 7 lb ft)

4. Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence to the following torque.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (290 ± 7 lb ft)

5. Install the rocker arms.

6. Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence to the following torque.

   Torque ... 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft)

7. Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence to the following torque.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (290 ± 7 lb ft)

8. Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence again to the following torque.

   Torque ... 390 ± 10 N·m (290 ± 7 lb ft)

9. Tighten the 3/8 inch bolts (2) to the following torque.

   Torque ... 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)

Height of new cylinder head ... 125.00 ± 0.25 mm (4.900 ± 0.010 inch)

Minimum height ... 123.73 mm (4.871 inch)
