Description of Change: The customer connector on the Series II Marine Engine wiring harness is shipped with the mating connector installed for test purposes. The customer connector uses pins that were not available previously in the Caterpillar parts system. These pins will be required by the dealer for installation to the vessel wiring.
Adaptable To: The correct pin is the 233-9226 Connector Pin. The 233-9226 Connector Pin is for use with the 242-0083 Wiring Harness (Customer Connector) on all 3500B Series II Marine Engines. Refer to Illustration 1.

The 1U-5804 Crimp Tool and the 151-6320 Wire Removal Tool are appropriate for use with the new pins. The use of the older pins in this customer connector will not work due to the length of the pin. The 233-9226 Connector Pin is for use with all of the 3500B Series II Marine Engines that are listed above.
