NOTICE

If it is necessary to rebuild any of the clutch groups, take special notice in the areas on the clutch plates located adjacent to the spring washers (Belleville type). Some wear might be noticed on the clutch plates. This wear is the result of the rougher texture on the washers imprinting onto the adjacent smooth plates when the clutch is engaged. At the time of rebuild, these "textured" plates which could be reused should NOT be used next to a friction disc. Reuse next to a disc could result in the rapid wear of the disc and cause clutch failure. These plates if or when reused, should be placed at locations where the "textured" surface will not be in contact with a friction material surface.
