Engine Oil Bypass Valve - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove engine oil bypass valve (1) and gasket (2) .
Note: Check the valve and the valve seat for an abnormal contact pattern. Inspect the spring for weakness or damage. Replace the engine oil bypass valve, if necessary.

- Install engine oil bypass valve (1) and gasket (2) .

- Tighten the cap of engine oil bypass valve (1) to a torque of 64 to 74 N·m (47 to 55 lb ft).
End By: Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".
