Engine Oil Pump - Remove

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove" for the engine that is being serviced.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Bend the tab on lock (1) away from bolt (2). Remove bolt (2).

  2. Remove bolts (4) and disconnect tube assembly (3).

  3. Bend the tabs on the locks away from the bolts and remove the four bolts (5) that hold oil pump (6) to the cylinder block.

  4. Remove oil pump (6).
