Usage:
Information concerning the use of gasket kits for engines is now available on two special microfiche, one for non-captive engines and one for engines in captive applications. The microfiche will be updated and mailed with the Numerical Parts Record (NPR). Gasket kit information formerly appeared on two microfiche Technical Partsgrams. This change will keep engine gasket kit information more current.
For identification purposes the words "Gasket Kit" will be printed in large letters in the upper left hand corner of the fiche. In the upper right hand corner will be "Usage Information - Engines" for the fiche that contain gasket kits for non-captive engines (formerly Technical Partsgram SEBD2618) and "Usage Information - Vehicle" for the fiche that reference gasket kits for captive engines (formerly Technical Partsgram SEBD2610-02). TEPS dealers will receive only the fiche for non-captive engines.
The new fiche will use the same vertical format and contain the same information as the Gasket Kit Technical Partsgram they replace. The two Technical Partsgrams have been canceled.
Do not confuse these new fiche with the Bills of Material Gasket Kit microfiche that are also sent with the NPR. The Bills of Material (B/M) fiche only list the contents of each kit; they do not identify kit usage.
Information concerning gasket kits for some Diesel and Natural Gas Engines and Starting Engines (SEBD2406), Torque Converters and Torque Dividers, Transmissions, Flywheel Clutch and Transfer Gears (SEBD2604), and Hydraulic Controls (SEBD2007) will still appear in the Technical Partsgrams.
