This engine uses an exhaust manifold that is cooled with engine coolant. The exhaust manifold is integrated with the header tank for the cooling system.
Apply Loctite 270 to the threads of studs (5) that go into the head.
Note: Coat the threads of the four plugs with 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound .

Tighten the nuts for studs (5) in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 2.
Torque for bolts ... 22 N·m (16 lb ft)

- Bolts 7, 8, 11, and 12 ... 13.5 N·m (10.0 lb ft)
