Check Degree Number On Timing Fixture Plate Assemblies{0650}

D8H and D8K Tractors;
583H and 583K Pipelayers Equipped with Compact Fuel Systems

The 3P2239 and 5P4240 Timing Fixture Plate Assemblies are used to adjust the timing of the accessory drive shaft to the engine with the fuel pump housing and governor removed. Some of these assemblies have the wrong degree number on the bottom of the fixture plate. The correct number for the 3P2239 Timing Fixture Plate Assembly which is used on D8H Tractors and 583H Pipelayers with compact fuel systems is 16.5°. The correct number for the 5P4240 Timing Fixture Plate Assembly which is used on D8K Tractors and 583K Pipelayers with compact fuel systems is 14.3°. Check both of these assemblies to be sure the degree number is correct. Change the number if it is necessary.
