The Routing Has Been Changed For The New Vent Line In The Oil Level Regulator Groups {1334}

Usage:

3512 1LM
Engine: Commercial
  • 3500 Family
  • Oil level regulator groups are attachments on these engines. A new longer vent line is used in these oil level regulator groups. This longer vent line is routed to a higher location on the engine. This change will help prevent oil from collecting in the vent line. The oil that collects could block the vent line. This could result in a incorrect oil level in the engine sump.

    The illustration identifies the components that are required to replace the shorter 8V-0536 Hose As with the new longer vent line.

    (7) 2B-0858 Pipe Plug

    (A) Existing Cover Plate

    (B) Existing Elbow

    Installation Procedure

    1. Remove one end of the existing 8V-0536 Hose As from the elbow on the side of the front housing. Remove the elbow and the reducing bushing from the side of the front housing.

    1. Install a 2B-0858 Pipe Plug in the hole for the reducing bushing.

    1. Remove the other end of the 8V-0536 Hose As from elbow (A) that is located on the top of the level regulator.

    1. Install the straight end of the new 216-8359 Hose As (6) on elbow (A) .

    1. Install the 032-1267 Flared Connector (1) in the cover plate (A) .

    1. Install the remaining end of the new 216-8359 Hose As (6) on the flared connector (1) .

    1. Use a 3L-6008 Spacer (2), a 8M-2773 Clip (3), a 0L-2070 Bolt (4), and a 5M-2894 Hard Washer (5) to fasten the hose assembly (6) in position on the front housing as the illustration shows.
