Use The 2P-4005 Engine Oil Filter Assembly If The Engine Is Equipped With Spin-on Oil Filters {1308}

Caterpillar recommends the use of the 2P-4005 Engine Oil Filter Assembly on the above engines that are equipped with spin-on oil filters. Do not use the 1R-0716 Engine Oil Filter Assembly on any 3500 Engines. The use of the 2P-4005 Engine Oil Filter Assembly will help prevent oil leaks from the joint between the filter seal and the filter base.
When you install a 2P-4005 Engine Oil Filter Assembly, tighten the filter for an additional full turn after the seal that is on the filter contacts the oil filter base.
