Mechanical Gauge - Test - Water Temperature

To check the temperature gauge, immerse temperature sensing bulb (1) of the gauge in a pan of water. Do not allow the temperature sensing bulb to touch the pan. Heat the water to the specified test temperatures. Refer to Specifications, "Temperature Gauge" for the test temperatures. Place a thermometer in the water in order to measure the temperature of the water. Compare the temperatures of the thermometer with the temperatures on the gauge. If the gauge is not within each specified temperature range, replace the gauge.
