- Use Tool (C) in order to Install camshaft bearings (78), if necessary.

- Install fourteen bolts (79), the cover and the gasket from each side of fuel injection pump (10). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft).
- Install camshaft (77) in fuel injection pump housing (10) .

Note: Do not damage the camshaft bearings when the camshaft is installed.
- Install the lock (76) for the camshaft.

- Install two bolts (75) and the locking tabs.
- Put clean engine oil on the valve lifters. Install valve lifters (74) and the spacers in the original location.

- Put clean engine oil on O-ring (70). Install O-ring (70) on bypass valve assembly (69) .

- Install spring (71) and bypass valve (72) in valve body (73) .
- Install bypass valve assembly (69) in valve body (73) .
- Put clean engine oil on the O-ring. Install bypass valve (67) and the O-ring seal. Press in adapter (68), if necessary.

- Install the plate assembly and the gasket on fuel injection pump housing (10). Install six bolts (65) and two bolts (66).

- Put clean engine oil on rack regulators (64). Install rack regulators (64) in the original position.

- Install Tool (D) in the pump housing with the square end of the tool downward. Hold the racks against Tool (D) and install each of the fuel injection pumps (63) in the original location.

- Use Tool (A) in order to install bushing (62) and the seal. The fuel injection pump must be in the proper position. Bushing (62) should go into the pump housing until the bushing is even with the pump housing. Tighten the bushing to a torque of 245 ± 15 N·m (181 ± 11 lb ft). Install the washers.

- Check the movement of rack with Tool (E) after each pump is installed.
- Repeat step 13 through step 15 for the remainder of the pumps and bushings.
- Install the rack link (60), the bolt, and plug (61) .

- Install both Tools (D) and hold the racks against the pins.
- Rotate plug (61) in order to equalize the rack setting. Tighten the bolt.
- Install the pin, support assembly (58), and two bolts (59) .
- Install pump drive gear (57) and two bolts (56) .

- Install the O-ring seal on sleeve (55). Install valve (53) on servo piston assembly. Install sleeve (55) and piston (54) on servo piston assembly.

- Install retaining ring (48) and spring seat (49). Install rack control sleeve (51) and ring (52) on servo piston assembly (47) .

- Install tube (43). Install bar (45) for the rack control. Install the bolt and washer (44) .

- Install sensor (42) .
- Adjust the gap between sensor (42) and gear (54) to 0.76 ± 0.15 mm (0.030 ± 0.006 inch). Tighten the nut on the sensor to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).
- Install shaft (39) in star gears (36) and (37) .

- Install the seal, if necessary. Install control group (19) on housing assembly (9) .

- Tighten jam nut (18) to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft).
Note: Adjust the output of the sensor with the rack at zero position. The static timing during the compression stroke is 19.5 degrees before top center with the timing pin in position in the pump housing. The number one cylinder is at top dead center.
- Install spring (17) on lever (16), if necessary.

- Install two bolts, two washers (15), and clip (14) .
- Use Tool (G) in order to install the seal and shutoff solenoid (13). Lubricate the seal lightly with glycerin. Tighten the solenoid to a torque of 70 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft).

- Install solenoid (11) and the seal in housing assembly (9). Lubricate the seal lightly with glycerin.
Note: Make sure that the lever on the solenoid engages correctly on the rack servo. The engine may run too fast or the engine may not start if the lever is not engaged in the sleeve.

- Install two bolts, one clip and two clamps (12) .
- Install five bolts and washers (8). Install housing (9) and a new gasket on fuel injection pump housing (10) .
