Speed Sensor

The engine speed sensor sends the engine speed signal to the tachometer.

  1. Adjust the sensor's clearance from the flywheel.

    1. The engine is secured. Install the sensor until the sensor contacts the flywheel.

    1. Back off the sensor (2.5 ± 0.1 turns).

    1. Measure clearance between the flywheel and the electronic sensor (1). The clearance should be 1.55 mm (0.061 inch) to 1.83 mm (0.072 inch).

  1. Tighten locknut (2) to a torque of 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft).
