Diesel Particulate Filter Temperature Is Low

Usage:

324E JCZ
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) monitors the temperature at the intake of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The ECM activates the following code when the conditions are met.

Table 1
Diagnostic Trouble Code
CDL Code     Code Description     Comments
E1014-2     Low DPF #1 Intake Temperature : moderate severity (2)     The Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) has been running for at least 30 seconds. The temperature at the intake of the DPF is below
50° C (122° F).

Active regeneration is immediately disabled. Engine power is derated. The code is logged. The code remains active until electrical power to the ECM is cycled.
Follow the troubleshooting procedure in order to identify the root cause of the fault.

(5) ARD combustion head

  1. Check for evidence of any gas leaks in the duct between the ARD combustion head and the DPF.

  1. Carefully inspect the duct between the outlet of the ARD and the intake to the DOC. Look for the following faults:

    • Missing duct, cracked duct, or disconnected duct

    • Loose clamps, broken clamps, or missing clamps

  1. Make sure that the clamp between the DOC and the DPF is not missing, broken, or loose.

  1. Perform any necessary repairs.
