  2. If necessary, install pressure relief valve (8). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Relief Valve - Remove and Install" for further information.

  3. If necessary, lubricate the internal components for the assembly of the engine oil pump with clean engine oil. Install outer rotor (11) and front cover (10) to the housing of engine oil pump (9). Install bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).

  4. Ensure that two dowel (12) and dowel (13) are correctly located in the housing of engine oil pump (9). Position the assembly of the engine oil pump onto the cylinder block.

Note: Ensure that the dowels in the housing of the engine oil pump are aligned with the holes in the cylinder block.

  5. Install bolts (7). Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).

  6. Check the backlash between idler gear and the crankshaft gear. Refer to Specifications, "Gear Group (Front)" for further information.

  7. Install suction pipe (1) and a new gasket (6) (not shown) to the assembly of engine oil pump (9).

  8. Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque to 22 N·m (195 lb in).

  9. If suction pipe (1) has a support bracket, follow Step 9.a through Step 9.d.

    1. Install the components of support bracket (3). Ensure the correct location and orientation of the bracket and the retaining clip.

    2. Install bolt (4).

    3. Tighten bolt (4) and bolt (2) finger tight in order to align the components of the support bracket.

    4. Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 22 N·m (195 lb in).

      Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

End By:

  1. Install the engine oil pan.
