Refer to Specifications, "Cylinder Head" for the procedure to tighten the bolts for the rocker arm assemblies.

(3) Locknut

Torque ... 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft)

(4) Locknut

Torque ... 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft)

(5) Valve lash

Inlet valves ... 0.38 ± 0.10 mm (0.015 ± 0.004 inch)

Exhaust valves ... 1.02 ± 0.10 mm (0.040 ± 0.004 inch)

(6) Dimension

Distance from the top of the cylinder head to the top of the dowel ... 53.3 ± 0.5 mm (2.10 ± 0.02 inch)

(7) Dimension

Diameter of new dowel ... 11.008 ± 0.003 mm (0.4334 ± 0.0001 inch)

Bore in bridge for dowel ... 11.13 ± 0.05 mm (0.438 ± 0.002 inch)

For installation of the valve lifter, lubricate the bore for the valve lifter and lubricate the cam with a 50/50 mixture of engine oil and 8T-2998 Lubricant .

Diameter of new valve lifter ... 27.896 ± 0.013 mm (1.0983 ± 0.0005 inch)

Bore in block for valve lifter ... 27.953 ± 0.019 mm (1.1005 ± 0.0007 inch)

(9) Guide spring

If a guide spring is removed, the spring cannot be used again. Always install a new spring.
