Engine Crankcase Breather - Clean

  • Loosen hose clamp (1). Slide the hose from breather assembly (2).

  • Loosen retaining clamp (3). Remove breather assembly (2). Remove the crankcase breather's seal.

  • Wash the breather assembly in clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather assembly to dry.

  • Inspect the seal for cracks or damage. If necessary, replace the seal . Install the seal.

    Note: Coat the rubber parts with clean engine oil or petroleum jelly in order to make installation easier.

  • Install the breather assembly and the hose.

  • Tighten retaining clamp (3) to the torque that is recommended in the engine's Specifications module. Tighten hose clamp (1) according to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Specificatons" topic.
