Description of Change: The diameter of the bead material for the coolant ports in a new cylinder head gasket is increased. The increased diameter of the bead material improves the flow of coolant between the engine block and the cylinder head. The new gasket prevents coolant leaks that are caused by a failed cylinder head gasket.

Adaptable To: The new 222-8331 Gasket replaces the former 5I-7648 Gasket in the machines that are listed. The new gasket is effective with 3066 (S/N: 7JK59918-UP) Engines. The machine effectivity and adaptability of the new gasket is listed in Table 1. The increased diameter of the bead material in the new gasket is shown in Illustration 2. Replace the former gasket with a new gasket, if coolant leaks from the cylinder head gasket.

Make sure that the correct part number is listed in the application for a warranty claim. The former 5I-7648 Gasket should be listed on the claims for the machines with 3066 (S/N: 7JK1-59917) Engines. The new 222-8331 Gasket should be listed on the claims for the machines with 3066 (S/N: 7JK59918-UP) Engines.
