Machine Working Function

Usage:

M318C BCZ

Illustration 1g01151926

The machine working function enables the machine ECM to indicate to the engine ECM when more power from the engine is needed or is not needed in order to operate the machine. This information enables the engine ECM to activate the low battery elevated engine idle function when engine power is not required for other systems on the machine. This information from the machine ECM is also used by the engine ECM in order to activate the automatic engine speed control function.

When the machine ECM detects that the main pump pilot pressure switch contacts and the swing pilot pressure switch contacts are both open, machine power demand is considered low. This information is sent to the engine ECM over the Cat Data Link. The engine ECM will respond by either activating the low battery elevated engine idle function if needed or the automatic engine speed control function. If the contacts close on either the main pump pilot pressure switch or the swing pilot pressure switch, the machine ECM will indicate an increased machine power demand to the engine ECM.
