The Cat Track Torque Wrench removes the track bolts during disassembly of the track for reconditioning. The Cat Track Torque Wrench also installs the track bolts during assembly of the track.

A programmable logic control allows the Cat Track Torque Wrench to perform Caterpillar's torque turn procedure. The Cat Track Torque Wrench tightens the bolts to a specific torque plus an additional 120 degrees. For a competitive track, the Cat Track Torque Wrench can tighten the bolts to the final torque setting that is recommended for a specific track.

The Cat Track Torque Wrench rides along the rails of a conveyor in order to get into position for the operation. The operator controls all travel and torquing functions with a joystick.

Features and Benefits

• A maximum torque of 9520 N·m (7000 lb ft) can be applied while the spindle is turning up to 40 rpm. A lower torque of 1496 N·m (1100 lb ft) can be applied while the spindle is turning from 41 to 195 rpm.

• A load cell senses the applied torque. The load cell is mounted 305 mm (12 inch) from the centerline of the bearing for the turntable.

• The Cat Track Torque Wrench uses pumps that can sense the load. Also, the pumps can limit the horsepower.

• A variable displacement, fluid motor provides smooth, quiet shifting in comparison with mechanical shifters. The result is reduced wear, maintenance and downtime.

• A hydraulic oil cooler ensures cooler operation.

• The Cat Track Torque Wrench is designed and manufactured by Cat Dealer Service Tools.

• The hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor have Cat part numbers for easy ordering through the Caterpillar parts department.

• The Cat Track Torque Wrench can be ordered in electrical configurations of 380, 460, or 575 volts and 50 or 60 Hz.

• The machine is European Union compliant.
