新发动机短时间使用后,由于气缸活塞环的磨合落座会使窜气量降低。 窜气将随着下列零部件的磨损而逐渐增加:

  • 活塞环

  • 缸套

注: 活塞环有问题会使机油迅速降低品质。 有关活塞环的状况的资料可从测量窜气量和润滑油状况分析结果中获得。

一台磨损的发动机的窜气量可能超过新发动机窜气量的二倍或更多。

窜气突然增加表明活塞环断裂。 下列状况是窜气的其它潜在根源:

  • 气门导管磨损

  • 涡轮增压器密封渗漏

一台重新修配的发动机由于下列因素可能有大的窜气量:

  • 活塞环尚未正确磨合落座。

  • 磨损件如气门导管未被更换。

窜气过量可能表明需要大修。 由于保存有窜气量的记录,将会注意到窜气量的逐渐增加直到窜气量过高。
