Shell Assembly - Install

⁽¹⁾	Use Tooling (A) or (A1) based on requirements.
⁽²⁾	Operating Voltage (480V - 240V)
⁽³⁾	Operating Voltage (400V - 200V)

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat^® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Attach Tooling (B) to shell assembly (2). Attach a suitable lifting device to shell assembly (2). Use Tooling (C) to balance shell assembly (2).
Attach Tooling (C) to a suitable lifting device and hydraulic cylinder (3). The weight of shell assembly (2) and hydraulic cylinder (3) is approximately 340 kg (750 lb).

Remove pin assembly (4) to disconnect hydraulic cylinder (3) (not shown) from shell assembly (2).

Position shell assembly (2) to the grapple. Install pin assembly (6) to attach hydraulic cylinder (3) to the grapple.
Connect two hose assemblies (7) to hydraulic cylinder (3).

Reposition shell assembly (2) to the grapple. Install pin assembly (5) to attach shell assembly (2) to the grapple.

Install pin assembly (4) to connect hydraulic cylinder (3) (not shown) to shell assembly (2).

For Tooling (A)
Remove Tooling (A) to allow the weight of the grapple to rest on shell assembly (2).

Remove Tooling (A1) to allow the weight of the grapple to rest on shell assembly (2). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).
