  1. Inspect the rotate circuit for external leakage. If a leak is found, perform the necessary repairs. If there is no sign of leakage, proceed to the next step.

  1. Adjust the pressure of the host machine for the rotate circuit to 12000 ± 500 kPa (1740 ± 70 psi). Refer to the Service Manual for the host machine for the proper procedures.

  1. Open the shells of the work tool. Rotate the shells until the side of the shells is parallel to the ground. Lower the shells to the ground and place pressure on the shells in order to prevent rotation.

    (3) Rotate the rotator to the left.

    (4) Rotate the rotator to the right.

  1. Remove the hose assembly of the host machine from coupling (4). Cap the hose.

  1. Install Tooling (A) onto the coupling (4) on the rotator.

  1. Start the engine of the host machine and operate the machine until the hydraulic oil reaches normal operating temperature.

  1. Attempt to rotate the work tool to the left. Record the change in pressure on the pressure gauge. If the pressure increases, the gerotor motor is faulty. Replace the hydraulic rotator.

  1. After the test is completed, remove all of the tooling. Reconnect the hose to the coupling on the gerotor motor.

  1. The air must be purged from the work tool before the tool is returned to operation. Refer to Service Manual, "Hydraulic System Air - Purge" for the proper procedure.
