Exhaust Manifold

Usage:

Remove and Install Exhaust Manifold

Start By:

a. remove turbocharger

b. remove water regulator housing


Typical Example

1. Remove the nuts and spacers (1), remove exhaust manifold (2), and remove the exhaust manifold shield (3).

2. Remove liners (4) from the cylinder head.

3. Remove gaskets (5) from the cylinder head studs.


NOTICE

Check the condition of all gaskets, liners, studs and nuts. If the part is worn or damaged, replace the part.


NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the exhaust manifold.

4. Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the studs.

5. A thin film of 2P-2333 High Temperature Sealer is applied to the outside diameter of the male end of exhaust manifold (2). Apply oil on the female ends of exhaust manifold (2).

6. Put gaskets (5), liners (3) and exhaust manifold (2) in position on the studs. Install the spacers and nuts (2). Install exhaust manifold shield (3) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 25 ± 7 N·m (18 ± 5 lb ft).


Bolt Tightening Sequence

7. Tighten the nuts in the number sequence shown to a torque of 38 ± 5 N·m (28 ± 4 lb ft).

End By:

a. install water temperature regulator housing

b. install turbocharger
