Separation Procedure for the Track on CIPI Undercarriage Arrangements which are Based on 330 Track Type Excavators
Required Tools     | |||
Tool     | Part Number     | Part Description     | Qty     |
A     | 5P-2380     | Master Pin Press Arrangement     | 1     |
4C-4865 | Hand Hydraulic Pump (or Electric)     | 1     | |

C     | 1U-7631     | Impact Socket     | 1     |
- Start the engine. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Shut off the engine.
- Release the tension on the track assembly. Loosen relief valve (1) by one turn only. If the track assembly does not loosen after opening the relief valve, move the machine forward and backward until the tension is released.
Grease is under high pressure. Grease coming out of the relief valve under pressure can penetrate the body causing injury or death. Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened. Loosen the relief valve only one turn. |

- Move the track assembly until master pin (2) is in position between the two carrier rollers, as shown.
- Use Tooling (A) to remove master pin (2) from the track assembly. Make sure that the pilot pin is installed correctly in the track assembly prior to removing Tooling (A) .

Illustration 4 | g00920767 |
Note: During removal of master pin (2) with Tooling (A), use a 5F-9447 Pilot Pin (3) to replace the master pin. The 5F-9447 Pilot Pin is part of the 5P-2380 Master Pin Press Arrangement.
Personal injury can result from the track coming off of the roller frame. The track can move off the track roller frame very quickly when a separation of the track is made. Keep away from the front of the machine when the track is removed from the track roller frame. |
- Start the machine and move the track assembly until pilot pin (3) is in the position that is shown.

- Put Tool (B) under the track grouser, as shown. Move the track assembly onto Tool (B) just enough to remove the load off of pilot pin (3) .
- Remove pilot pin (3) from the track assembly.
- Move the machine forward in order to clear the track assembly from the undercarriage frame assembly.
- Remove the washers and spacers from the track assembly at the master pin joint.
- Fasten a suitable lifting device to the rear of the track assembly. Raise the track assembly, and remove Tool (B). Lower the rear of the track assembly to the floor.

Note: To provide additional clearance for removal of the master pin, the track shoe on each side of the master pin may be removed. Use Tool (B) to remove the track shoe mounting bolts.
- Remove cotter pin (3) from the master pin. Use a hammer and a punch to remove master pin (2) from the track links. Separate the track links, and locate the two track bushings. Slowly move the machine forward until the track assembly is off the sprocket, the track carrier rollers and the front idler.

Note: The track bushings will fall out of the track links when the track assembly is separated.
- Fasten a hoist to the rear of the track assembly. Raise the track assembly off Tool (A). Remove Tool (A). Lower the rear of the track assembly to the floor.
