Usage:
(1) Apply 9S-3263 Sealant on threads of bolts.
(2) Apply 9S-3263 Sealant on threads of bolts.
(2) Torque for 20 bolts ... 900 ± 100 N·m (660 ± 75 lb ft)
(3) Apply 1U-8846 gasket maker on both surfaces of ring gear which contact with cover and housing.
(4) Make stake marks near opening of each pin hole after installation, as indicated in VIEW B.
(5) Apply 9S-3263 Sealant on threads of bolts.
(5) Torque for 10 bolts ... 900 ± 100 N·m (660 ± 75 lb ft)
(6) O-rings of floating seal and all surfaces in contact with them must be clean and dry at assembly. Put a thin layer of oil on the surfaces that make contact on the metal seals just before installation.
(7) Use plate to make adjustment so that end play (A) is ... 1.0 to 2.0 mm (.04 to .08 in).
(8) Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the surfaces of parts that contact with pins.
(11) Preload on bearing:
Make an adjustment as follows.
1. Put a load, (P), of 4000 kg (8800 lbs) on bearing (11).
2. Rotate housing (12) to seat the bearing.
3. Reduce the load (P) to 1000 ± 100 kg (2220 ± 220 lbs) and measure the distance, (C).
4. Measure the distance, (D) of gear (9).
5. Use a maximum of two shim(s) (10), as required.
The total shim thickness must be; [(C) - (D)] ± 0.05 mm (±.002 in).
NOTE: If two shims (10) are used, the thinner one should be placed next to gear (9).
(10) 7Y-1050 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.15 mm (.006 in)
(10) 7Y-1051 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.30 mm (.012 in)
(10) 7Y-1052 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.40 mm (.016 in)
(10) 7Y-1053 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.50 mm (.020 in)
(10) 7Y-1054 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.60 mm (.024 in)
(10) 7Y-1055 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.70 mm (.028 in)
(10) 7Y-1056 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 0.80 mm (.031 in)
(10) 7Y-1057 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 1.00 mm (.039 in)
(10) 7Y-1058 Shim:
Thickness of one shim ... 1.60 mm (.063 in)
NOTE: Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on all surfaces that make contact with bearing (11).
