Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (2) from camshaft engine speed/timing sensor (1).

  2. Remove bolt (3) and the clip from camshaft engine speed/timing sensor (1). Remove camshaft engine speed/timing sensor (1).

  3. Disconnect harness assembly (4) from the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor.

  4. Remove the bolt and the clip from the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor. Remove the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor.

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

The speed/timing sensors must be installed to the proper depth for correct operation. The speed/timing sensors and the housing (front) must be free of any contaminates to ensure proper speed/timing sensors installation depth.

  1. Install the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor. Put the clip in position and install the bolt that holds the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor.

  2. Connect harness assembly (4) to the crankshaft engine speed/timing sensor.

  3. Install camshaft engine speed/timing sensor (1). Put the clip in position and install bolt (3).

  4. Connect harness assembly (2) to camshaft engine speed/timing sensor (1).
