Engine Oil Pump - Install

NOTICE

    ------ WARNING! ------

    The engine oil pump idler gear can fall off of the pump when the pump is removed or installed. Injury may result. To help prevent injury, always hold the idler gear on the pump when the pump is removed or installed.

  1. Install engine oil pump (4) onto the cylinder block. Ensure that idler gear (3) is engaged with the crankshaft gear and install locking tabs and bolts (2) . Install locking tabs and bolts (6) and (1) .

  1. Ensure that locking tab (5) is not next to the oil pan gasket when bolt (6) is tightened. Bend the locking tabs into position.

End By: Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".
