Introduction

On certain Medium Wheel Loaders the main information display may go black, then revert to a "Software not Installed" screen during operation. This will require the display to be reflashed.

Solution

Install the latest 571-8720 Information Display File. If the issue reoccurs, contact your Technical Communicator (TC). Dealer TC can create a Product Health Service Request referencing this publication Technical Information Bulletin, M0101914, "Information Display May Revert to a Software Not Installed Screen on Certain M and L Medium Wheel Loaders". 

Attach a PSR, a full description of the symptoms, and what troubleshooting has been done so far prior to submitting to Caterpillar. Root cause is still unknown, but an ICA is available.

If the 571-8720 Information Display File corrects the issue, provide the information to your Dealer Technical Communicator (TC) along with this Technical Information Bulletin (TIB) and CPI Number 435643. Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi)

532-8795 Information Display Monitor Software Gp has been running without issue.
