Front Housing - Install
Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Install new gasket (1) on the timing gear plate. Cut the gasket even with the bottom face on the cylinder block.
Note: Check the condition of the gaskets and the O-ring seals. If the gaskets or the O-ring seals are damaged or worn, use new parts for replacement.

- Install timing gear cover (2) .
- Tighten bolts (3) and (4) to a torque of 23 ± 4 N·m (17 ± 3 lb ft) .

- Use four bolts (5) , the nuts and the washers in order to install alternator bracket (6) . Use four bolts (7) and install bracket (8) .

- Ensure that O-ring seal (9) is in position on trunnion (10) . Install trunnion (10) and six bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft) .

- Use two bolts and install the O-ring seal and cover (11) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 ± 10 N·m (74 ± 7 lb ft) .

End By:
- Install the crankshaft front seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Install" .
- Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install" .
- Install the air compressor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Compressor - Remove and Install" .
- Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install" .
