An Internal Software Issue of the Latest Monitor Software Results in No Buzzer Sounding on Certain Wheeled Excavators and Material Handlers {7490} Caterpillar

Problem

After flashing the latest monitor software, 525-9808 Monitor Software Gp, on machines equipped with 486-1632 Operator Monitor Gp, there is no buzzer for the monitor. The buzzer no longer sounds for any level 3 event occurring on the machine, or any other notification. The buzzer no longer sounds due to an internal software issue.

Solution

Do not flash the latest monitor software, 525-9808, on the machines listed above until further notice. For machines already flashed with this software, create a Global Dealer Solution Network (GDSN) Product Health Service Request (SR) and in the description state the issue and reference this publication, M0095887. Ask for an alternative solution and attach a Product Status Report (PSR) prior to submitting the SR to Caterpillar
