Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Certain MS995, MS975, and MS955 receivers with firmware versions 5.31 and 5.34 may encounter a connection issue, when tracking and using BeiDou and Galileo constellations. There are no issues when using the more common Global Positioning System (GPS) and GLONASS constellations. The MS9x2 receivers and firmware prior to version 5.31 do not have this issue.
This problem shows as an intermittent loss of connection to one or both receivers based on the installed system.
Note: This firmware issue should not stop users from following standard troubleshooting steps if intermittent connection issues are noticed, such as checking cable and connector integrity.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. A team is working on this issue to find resolution. As an interim action, users experiencing the issue can disable the use of BeiDou and Galileo constellations in the receiver setup.
