Air Cleaner - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the ether starting aid.

  1. Loosen clamp (2) and clamp (3). Remove precleaner (1).

  2. Loosen clamp (6). Remove bolts (5) and bracket assembly (4).

  3. Attach Tooling (A) to panel assembly (8). The weight of panel assembly (8) is approximately 17 kg (37 lb). Remove bolts (7) and panel assembly (8).

  4. If necessary, reposition hose (9) out of the way.

  5. Remove bolt (12) and cut cable straps (11). Disconnect harness assemblies (10) and position harness assemblies (10) out of the way.

  6. Use two people to remove panel assembly (15). The weight of panel assembly (15) is approximately 26 kg (57 lb). Remove bolts (14) and panel assembly (15).

  7. Open door (13). Remove bolts (16) and bracket assembly (17).

  8. Loosen clamp (18). Disconnect hose (19) and position hose (19) out of the way.

  9. Attach suitable lifting device to air cleaner (20). The weight of air cleaner (20) is approximately 38 kg (84 lb). Remove bolts (21) and air cleaner (20).

  10. Remove bolts (23) and bracket assembly (22).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (133 ± 27 lb in).

    2. Tighten clamp (3) to a torque of 4.5 N·m (39.8 lb in).
