Grease Applications

To use a non-Cat grease, the supplier must certify that the lubricant is compatible with Cat grease.

Each pin joint should be flushed with the new grease. Ensure that all old grease is removed. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to failure of a pin joint.

(1) If the ambient temperatures are beyond the specified range, refer the latest edition of Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6250, "Cat Machine Fluids Recommendations" or contact your Cat Dealers for additional information on selecting oils.
(2) The Oil Change Hours are given as a guidance for operating under normal conditions and may vary depending upon site conditions.
(3) Whenever Rear Axle oil is changed, 500 ml special additive P/No.185-0783 should be added in differential compartment. If noise persists additional 200 ml to be added.

Note: It is suggested, for best results, oil samples (S.O.S) should be taken at 250 hours intervals. Consult your Cat dealer for complete information and assistance in establishing S.O.S program for your equipment.
