Description Of Change: The hydraulic lines routing for the torque converter Lock Up Clutch (LUC) is improved on the machine listed above. The improved hydraulic lines routing enhances the oil flow from the transmission filter to the lock up clutch. This improved routing increases the performance and service life of the hydraulic oil flow system.

Note: If oil filter group (D) is installed, inspect the LUC supply line. If the LUC Supply line is routed as shown in Illustration 4, no further action is required.

Note: If the LUC supply line is routed as shown in Illustration 5, the line must be replaced. Follow the rework procedure given below to reroute the hose assembly (E).
Rework Procedure
- Remove plug (F) from the filter head and discard the part.
Note: Leave the larger adapter (G) installed.
- Install elbow (1) using O-Ring seal (2) as shown in Illustration 7.
- Disconnect old 438-8236 Hose As and adapter from side of filter head. Discard the adapter and seals if required.
- Reinstall new hose (6) to the elbow (1) using an O-Ring seal (3) as shown in Illustration 7.
- Install plug (4) to the side of the filter using an O-Ring seal (5) as shown in Illustration 7.
