Object Detection Sensor (Radar) - Check/Clean - Autonomy Perception
Note: A portable access system may be required.
Refer to the following list for inspecting and cleaning the object detection sensors.
- Inspect the object detection enclosure (1).
- Inspect the covers of the enclosure and mounting brackets of the object detection sensors for cracks or damage.
Note: Glass cover must be set flat. When a cover for the object detection enclosure has been damaged, replace the cover.
- Ensure that the mounting bolts are tight.
Show/hide tableIllustration 1 g06203250 - Inspect the covers of the enclosure and mounting brackets of the object detection sensors for cracks or damage.
- Check the object detection sensors for an excessive amount of mud or other materials around the object detection sensors.
Note: When the object detection sensors are covered with mud or other debris, clean the cover and/or remove debris.
- If the sensor or sensors have been moved, removed, or replaced, then refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Calibrations for Maintenance"
- Clean debris off first, using hose or pressure wash.
- Use a damp cloth with non-abrasive soap to clean the glass of the object detection sensors. The covers of the object detection sensors are not affected by a wash with high-pressure spray.
- If sensor or sensor box has moved, a perception system calibration must be performed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8845, "Autonomous Calibration Procedure".
