Swing Drive Oil - Change

Usage:

559D KL5

Drain the Swing Drive

  1. Remove the access cover that is located under the machine, near the swing gear.

  2. Remove drain hose (1) from the frame. Face the end of the hose toward the container.

    Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information that pertains to containing fluid spillage.

  3. Loosen the drain valve (2). Drain the oil into a suitable container.

    Note: Dispose of drained fluids according to local regulations.

  4. Tighten the drain valve.

  5. Return the end of the drain hose to the frame. Make sure that the end of the hose is facing upward.

  6. Tighten the drain valve.

  7. Return the end of the drain hose to the upper frame. Make sure that the end of the hose is facing upward.

  8. Install the access cover.

Refill the Swing Drive

  1. Remove the dipstick (3).

  2. Add the specified quantity of oil through the dipstick tube. See Operation and Maintenance, "Capacities (Refill)".

  3. Make sure that the oil level is maintained to the "Full" mark on the dipstick.

  4. Check the oil that has been drained for metal chips or metal particles. Consult your authorized dealer if any metal chips or metal particles are found.

    Note: Dispose of drained materials according to local regulations.
