Turbocharger Heat Shield

Usage:

Remove Marine Engine Turbocharger Heat Shield (Water Cooled)

1. Drain the engine cooling system-capacity 17.5 U.S. Gal. (68 liters).

2. Remove turbocharger shield water inlet line (5).

3. Loosen clamp (3) and remove the turbocharger exhaust elbow (4).

4. Remove six retaining nuts and remove exhaust elbow adapter (6).

5. Remove pipe plugs (1) and (2).

6. Remove five turbocharger shield mounting bolts (7) and remove the turbocharger heat shield.

7. Remove the turbocharger exhaust coupling assembly.

Install Marine Engine Turbocharger Heat Shield (Water Cooled)

1. Coat the mating surfaces of the turbocharger and exhaust coupling (1) with 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound. Install the exhaust coupling and tighten the clamp nut to 120 lb. in. (138,4 cmkg).

2. Position the turbocharger shield (2) on the engine.

3. Coat the shield retaining bolts and pipe plug threads with 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound.

4. Install the retaining bolts and pipe plugs.

5. Install the exhaust elbow adapter and adapter retaining nuts.

6. Install the exhaust elbow and tighten the clamp nut to 120 lb. in. (138,4 cmkg).

7. Install the water inlet line and fill the engine cooling system.
