Description Of Change: New software (implement, power train, and monitor software) is now used on certain M series and M series 2 Motor Graders. The new software has improvements for the implement Electronic Control Module (ECM), transmission/chassis ECM, and messenger ECM.

Improvements for Implement ECM on All M Series and M Series 2 Motor Graders

The following improvements are effective for the implement ECM on all M series and M series 2 indicated Motor Graders:

  • Updated to enable cross slope without a key cycle after enabling the cross slope feature.

  • Added 1 second debounce to Advanced Control Joystick Float command.

  • Added Cat® Grade Control Increment / Decrement switch function. Pressing and holding the switch will change the desired cross slope percentage to the nearest whole number.

  • Updated to prevent activation of cross slope diagnostics if cross slope was disabled.

Improvement for Transmission/Chassis ECM on All M Series Motor Graders

The following improvement is effective for the transmission/chassis ECM on all M series Motor Graders unless otherwise indicated:

  • Added support for the event codes E1704 (High Transmission Clutch Accumulated Thermal Energy) and E1736 (High Service Brake Accumulated Thermal Energy).

Improvements for Transmission/Chassis ECM on All M Series 2 Motor Graders

The following improvements are effective for the transmission/chassis ECM on all M series 2 Motor Graders unless otherwise indicated:

  • Improved brake charge function.

  • Added support for the event codes E1704 (High Transmission Clutch Accumulated Thermal Energy) and E1736 (High Service Brake Accumulated Thermal Energy).

Improvements for M Series Messenger ECM for Language Groups

The following improvements are effective for the M series messenger ECM for language groups:

  • Added pop-up notification that notifies the operator when the trial installation of the Auto Articulation expires. Updated to give the operator a "Trial Expired" message when the Auto Articulation switch is selected.

  • Added a "Shipping Mode" within the implement sub group that is under the "Settings" option in the display.

  • Added support for the event codes E1704 (High Transmission Clutch Accumulated Thermal Energy) and E1736 (High Service Brake Accumulated Thermal Energy).

  • Improved calibration diagnostics support for the Grade Control system, specifically for diagnostic code 3423-13 (Grade Control System - Out of Calibration).

Adaptable To: The following parts are adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.
