This Special Instruction outlines the parts and procedures necessary for retrofitting LED lights on certain 770, 772, 773F, 775F, 777F, Off-Highway Trucks.

Overview
Production 770 through 777F Off-Highway Trucks is factory equipped with either halogen (standard) or HID (optional) headlights and backup lights. New light emitting diode (LED) head lights and backup lights are now available as parts replacement upgrades for 770through 777F Off-Highway Trucks. LED lights provide longer life, brighter light, consume less power and are more resistant to vibration or water damage. This change is a simple upgrade which can benefit many customer operations.
Upgrade Kit
To make the upgrade to LED lighting as simple as possible, Caterpillar has released an LED Light Upgrade Kit for 770F through 777F Off-Highway Trucks. This kit contains all the parts needed to convert to LED headlights and backup lights on a single machine. Detailed coverage, part number, and support information are shown in the charts below.
