Description Of Change: New software is used on certain 120M Series 2 and 12M Motor Graders. The new software allows the transmission control module to support the Stable Grade feature.
Adaptable To: The new software is adaptable to and is effective in production with the serial numbers listed in Table 1.

Note: Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) release version 2015B or the latest available Cat ET version is recommended for flashing to utilize the improvements in this software update release.
Note: When updating software on Series M 2Motor Graders, the Transmission/Chassis electronic control module (ECM), the Implement ECM, the Steering Control ECM, and the Messenger must be updated with the latest version of software at the same time. Use the Cat ET to verify that all flash files are the latest version. Refer to the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS) web.
After flashing new software to an ECM or multiple ECMs, always reset the ECMs by cycling the power supply as follows:
- Turn the key switch and the disconnect switch from the "ON" position to the "OFF" position
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Turn the disconnect switch and the key switch to the "ON" position as required.
Enhancements of Transmission/Chassis Software
The new transmission/chassis software features added transmission/chassis support which allows the transmission/chassis ECM to mitigate machine bounce when Stable Grade is active.
